Use these procedures when there is a mobile tablet software upgrade on the server. The server should have prompted the tablets to update often does not. Not every tablet is configured identically. Some are using the Samsung browser, and some are using Chrome. Reset both.
Instructions
- Press the bottom left button to show a list of running apps.
- Swipe each app Up, to close it (or click Close all) at the bottom
- Reset Chrome.
- Open Chrome
- At the top right there are three stacked dots (a "meatball" menu). Click that and open Settings.
- Open Privacy and security
- Click Clear browsing data
- Select all options except the saved passwords option (hopefully the mechanic either knows or has saved their password) and then click Clear data.
- Reset Samsung browser
- Click Internet on the icon list. On my tablet this is a purple icon with a white circle "Saturn" icon.
- Tap the 3-line "hamburger" menu at the bottom right.
- Open Settings
- Scroll down to Personal browsing data
- Click Delete browsing data
- Select everything except Passwords (again hoping any saved password for logging in will still work) and click Delete data.
- Click Delete to confirm.
- Press the bottom left button again and close all the apps again.
- Re-launch the Dynaway Mobile app from the icon list. It will show "authenticating", prompt the user to sign in, and then synchronize the objects and work orders.
